I’ve been gone for a few weeks. Now that I’m back, I’m gonna start off with something interesting that I read about before going back to the random pictures, robot hating and dick jokes.

That little guy up there, he’s how the mind views the body. The parts which the mind deems most important and where it gets most of it’s information from are given added emphasis. You’d think the eyes would be of more importance, but the hands give more useful reports on perception of an object. The lips and tongue let us know that what we are attempting to eat may or may not kill us, sending great information to the mind about what goes into our mouths. The nose and ears are even larger than the eyes, because you can usually hear or smell a predator or prey long before they are within line of sight. The arms, legs and neck don’t really need to pass on information, they just need to make sure to tell the brain if they’re getting cut off, so they aren’t as important. It all makes a lot of sense when you think about it. I just thought that was pretty cool and wanted to share.
